What I Packed: Cebu 2016

My family went on a very delayed beach vacation to Mactan, Cebu last weekend, and as per my habit I take photos of what I took with me in the stationery department. While I had my Hobonichi Weeks and my TN Wallet as is expected, I also brought along my Chicsparrow Outlander with journal inserts as well as the Midori Mini. I felt that I wanted to journal while at the resort, and I wanted TNs that could stand the rigors of travel.

My pencase contained only regular and brush pens, because I did not want to have to worry about fountain pens and flying. I brought along my cute little Crayola gel pens (which did not get used), a Sharpie (also unused), a Coleto (unused), two dual-ended markers, a brush pen, and a mechanical pencil. The rest of the case contained much of the same contents as in this post.

I’m glad that I actually did get to journal during the three-day vacation, and even while waiting for our delayed flight. Having a journal is really quite handy and comforting!

What I Packed: Makeup (Palawan 2015)

Over the easter weekend I got to visit Palawan for the first time! I absolutely loved it there. Such a pristine place and not too commercialized. As we planned nothing else but to stay on the beach and do beach stuff, here’s all the makeup I brought.

palawan2015pack2

Pixy UV Whitening Two-Way Cake – the only base I brought. I figured I didn’t really need a lot of options, but I definitely wanted to bring one with SPF. I actually hit pan on this already! I’m just also using it up before I buy a refill.

Colourpop Super Shock Eyeshadow in Smash – it’s really the most abused base color I use in my stash, and it definitely went into my kit.

Pixy Eyeshadow in 01 Romantic Poem – I just brought this along for pops of color, and the fact that it’s quite small and it has a tiny sponge applicator.

Pixy Blush On in 02 Brown Tea – Again same reasoning as the eyeshadow, being compact and comes with its own tiny brush. I also like that it’s a brown shade instead of the usual pinks and reds, perfect for the beach!

Happy Skin Eye Love View Eyebrow Duo – Among my eyebrow products this claimed to be waterproof (which you’ll actually see in action below!). It also comes with a marker side, in case I really wanted a very polished look.

Fairydrops Platinum Mascara – I brought this for the waterproof factor, and the fact that this is on its last legs and I’m just using it up. Will be sad to see this go, as I can no longer replace this locally.

Burt’s Bees Tinted Lip Balm in Honeysuckle – My recent go-to lip balm, which never leaves my purse anyway.

Colour Collection Ultimate Wear Lipstick in Bellissima – The only red lipstick I brought (learned my lesson from my last trip haha!). Which, ironically, wasn’t used on the trip!

Ofra Lipstick in #205 (not pictured) – And the only pink lipstick I brought. This one was used more because I didn’t really feel like using red lipstick on the beach.

All of these were packed in an old small Clinique pouch that was probably a GWP somewhere. I liked that I brought very little makeup here, which matched exactly the use I wanted out of them. It also helped keep my packing light!

I actually had eyebrows here! Kudos to Happy Skin! This photo was taken while IN the water, trying to take a selfie with the early moon. XD

What I Packed: Crafting (Caribbean 2015)

This is the last of my What I Packed series for my latest Caribbean trip. I can’t go on without talking about what I brought for my crafting and writing needs.

Most of these are packed in my checked in luggage, especially the green mesh bag as it contains my scissors. It had a too-long blade which means I can’t bring it with me on the plane cabin. In any case let’s start with the notebooks.

pack2015crafts3

As you can see I brought a lot. Clockwise from the top left: Alunsina Kislap Traveler’s Notebook (which came with me in my purse), an Acryl Ringnotes refillable notebook (I think this is A5 sized) which was for my work notes, a black lined Moleskine notebook which is my personal journal, a black dot-grid Copelle notebook which is my art journal, and two unopened sets of Venzi Flexy2 notebook refills for my traveler’s notebook. Only the first three were actually used. I had underestimated just how busy I was going to be in this trip that I simply didn’t have the time to try any lettering (in the Copelle) or do as much journaling as I wanted. Let’s move on to my pencil cases.

pack2015crafts4

This first one is the pencil case part of the Filed pen roll I recently bought. In it are, from the top: three Frixion stamps, a magnetic bookmark, a black Pilot G-Tec-C3, a black Pilot Drawing Pen, a black Daiso marker, three colored Frixion Point pens, a Faber-Castell eraser pen, a Staedtler pencil, and an extendable plastic ruler. Again, most of these were left unused, except for the Frixion pens, the magnetic bookmark, and the G-Tec.

The other pencil case is a very slim Bear Huggs pencil case and contained only three Frixion Point pens. These came with me in my purse, and was used mainly with my traveler’s notebook. Lastly, we come to my craft bag.

This is a green mesh bag that I borrowed from my daughter. In it are a pack of stickers (most are from Toys R Us), my long-bladed scissors, seven rolls of medium-width washi tape, six rolls of slim washi tape, and three planner clips. Now these were all used, I think, since I did have time to play with my planner. As I mentioned earlier, these were packed in my checked in bag because of the scissors.

There we have it! Thanks for checking out what I packed in my trip!

What I Packed: Skincare (Caribbean 2015)

A continuation of the What I Packed series in my latest trip, this time for skincare. This is basically what I brought.

pack2015makeup8

I packed some of these in the same Ellana makeup bag that I used as there were still some space, and the rest in a generic mesh zip pouch. What I have are, going from left to right top row first, then bottom:

Bifesta Eye and Lip Makeup Remover – big bottle, but very little product left. I figure it should not be a big deal to bring since it’s practically empty.

Olay Moisturizer – again a big bottle. For some reason I couldn’t find my travel sized Celeteque Hydration moisturizer so I brought this instead.

Marks & Spencer Body Powder – a big bottle yet again! I had a travel sized bottle of Johnson’s baby powder, but it was almost empty and I am a huge body powder user that I’m sure it would run out on me. I brought this one instead.

Jergens Ultra Healing Body Lotion – This is the smallest bottle I can find in my stash, which wasn’t so bad all things considered.

Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-touch Sunblock – I didn’t have any other sunblock available, so this went in my bag.

Etude House Dear Girls Be Clear Moisturizer – is actually not much a moisturizer, but a facial sunblock. Again, no other option available, so into the bag it went.

Nivea Extra Whitening Deodorant – is the only deodorant I will use, so a fresh one went into my bag.

Etude House Wonder Pore Freshner – finally something travel sized! A no brainer toner that is an automatic bring.

Bifesta Agecare Cleansing Lotion – also in travel sized! I filled this up from my current big bottle, and is a great partner to the eye and lip makeup remover.

Vitress Hair Cuticle Coat – all of the Vitress bottles I have are small enough for travel, but this is the tiniest! Love this thing!

Celeteque Hydration Facial Wash – apparently this is the only surviving one from my Celeteque travel kit as I couldn’t find its toner and moisturizer partners.

Pure n’ Fresh Cologne in Tropical Fresh – I’m not such a huge perfume person so I didn’t really care what fragrance I brought as long as it was small, and smelled decent.

There we go! Thanks for reading! Next and last in this series will be my craft carry.
